MDC RTT (Request-To-Talk) Button Access |
(Conventional Personality, Non-ASTRO Call) |
![]()
Selects the Request-To-Talk (RTT) mode for the current Conventional
Personality. When enabled with either the "Manual" (the
MDC
Request-To-Talk
button-press or
Request-to-Talk
menu-selection) or the "Auto" (PTT
button) selections, the radio sends an RTT signaling packet to the
dispatcher requesting the ability to transmit voice on the channel. The radio's microphone
then immediately keys-up for 2 to 3 seconds allowing the radio-user time
to pick up the microphone and begin a voice transmission. From this point,
the radio has "normal" voice access to this channel.
This feature allows the dispatcher to manage channel traffic for voice
communications. This
feature applies while operating in MDC
System mode and on the current Conventional
Personality.
